Privacy Policy

What this site collects, how the browser tools handle your data, and the choices you have.

Last updated: October 26, 2026

This policy explains the data the site receives and the third-party services that load on its pages. There is no account system, no newsletter sign-up and no payment flow.

Information we collect

When you request a page, the hosting infrastructure may record standard technical information such as the requested URL, the time of the request, an IP address, a user-agent string and a referrer. This information is used to deliver pages, keep the site available, diagnose errors and prevent abuse.

Analytics

Pages on this site load Google Analytics 4 (measurement IDG-J7D88SCREY). Production pages also load Auspia analytics from analytics.auspia.io. These services may collect page views, approximate location derived from an IP address, device and browser information, and the referring page. We use the resulting aggregate reports to understand which guides and tools are useful.

Google Analytics may set its own cookies, including cookies whose names begin with _ga. Auspia analytics may use a site identifier to count visits. Those providers process data under their own policies. If you block analytics scripts or use a privacy-focused browser setting, the guides and tools on this site still work.

Cookies and local storage

The shared site layout uses a theme cookie to remember whether you chose the light or dark appearance. Some older embedded pages may also store the same preference in localStorage. Analytics providers may set the cookies described above.

Microphone and audio

The interactive tools on this site generate reference tones with the Web Audio API and calculate results in your browser. They do not request microphone access, record audio or upload sound. Nothing you type into a calculator is sent to a server. If you follow a link to a separate tuner or another external site, that site's privacy policy applies instead.

Third-party links

Guides may link to external references, manufacturers, retailers or other tools. Those sites may set their own cookies or collect data, and their privacy policies apply to that activity.

Your choices

  • Block or clear cookies in your browser settings.
  • Use a content blocker or browser privacy mode to limit analytics scripts.

Changes to this policy

If the data practices described here change, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change.

Contact

The contact page describes the public channels that currently exist. The site does not offer a separate privacy-request channel; the choices above list the controls available in your browser.
