About Guitar Tuner Lab

Practical guidance on guitar tuning, setup and staying in tune.

Guitar Tuner Lab publishes plain-language guides about guitar tuning, intonation, string changes and the small setup details that decide whether an instrument stays in tune. The site is written for players who want to understand what is happening to the instrument rather than follow a list of steps without context.

What we publish

  • Tuning references and frequency charts for standard and alternate tunings.
  • Diagnostic guides for tuning stability, intonation and string problems.
  • Browser-based tools for calculations, reference tones and fretboard work.
  • Chord and scale references tied to the tuning they are played in.

How we work

Guides are built from published instrument specifications, standard tuning maths and the physical behaviour of strings and hardware. When a statement depends on scale length, string gauge, bridge design or playing style, the guide says so instead of presenting one answer as universal.

Tools run in the browser. Calculator results are estimates based on the values you enter, and reference tones are generated locally; they are not measurements of your instrument.

Corrections

Guides are revised when a documented error or outdated specification is found. Each page keeps its published assumptions visible so a correction can be checked against the source that supports it.
